Our little girls room X.x

These are some piccies of my little Miss Scarlette Rose's room, we are so soooooooo lucky be able to paint our rental home, and we made her space a playful bright (very girly) room that she will want to hang out in, the flags are a mix of tie dyed cotton and star prints made really cheap and framed some gorgeous cards that had really sweet positive messages that are nice reminders to read!! We decorated her room when her baby brother Sylus was born to also welcome the change in our home and family! So far so good!! yeahhhh!!! X.x

Colourful tram shed!

Awesome day out, found some peices by some artist's i like, phibs........
Below info is taken from the Harold Park website.............

Built in 1904 and once the second biggest depot in Sydney, the tram sheds housed up to 200 trams, servicing Glebe Point, Leichhardt and Balmain until 1958.
Ownership of the tram sheds was transferred to the NSW Harness Racing Club in 2002.
The tram sheds are heritage listed under the Leichhardt LEP, 2000.
The Club has made a number of attempts to restore and refurbish the tram sheds over the past few years as a multipurpose site but each attempt has been rejected by either Leichhardt or Sydney City Council.
Cost estimates for restoring and refurbishing the tram sheds range between $20-35 million.
There are 5 remaining trams inside the sheds. These have been offered to various organisations but to date no one has accepted responsibility for their removal.
Current zoning prevents use of the tram sheds for anything other than recreational activities.

There is something super relaxing but exciting when i'm grabbing some new supplies for arts and crafts, and is it just me or do others like browsing through stationary shops, spotlight and lincraft??? letting my brain bubble away with new ideas and thinking about all the wonderful ideas that unfold........... lots of news peices coming soon!!!

Inspiration wall

There are soooooooooooooo many images that i've collected and like that i thought i should make an inspirational wall that i see all the time, so many images have made me feel a certain way, happy, creative, movivated, thoughtful, dreamy, the list could go on and on!!.............so it's the wall next to my computer that makes me smile and my wooden words that i've painted gold against our plum wall to remind us how to be in this busy lives we have, to stop and take 5 minutes to relax with a cuppa and let our minds wonder.................

My babies are growing up so fast!!!

This week my hubby and i have noticed even more how much our babies are growing up, miss Scarlette is saying the most hilarious things and talking so much and Sylus is rolling over and sitting up and making so many new noises and grew his first new front teeth, 2 came through at once and he barely made a complaint, what a lil cherub, his lil chatter is so adorable even though it's just a little blabbering, it's all about the kiddies at the moment, not much creating with this rainny wintery weather!

Nathan Sawaya is a New York-based artist who creates awe-inspiring works out of some of the most unlikely things. His recent North American museum tours feature large-scale sculptures using only toy building blocks. LEGO® bricks to be exact.

Sawaya's art is currently touring North American museums in a show titled, The Art of the Brick. It's the only exhibition focusing exclusively on LEGO as an art medium. The creations, constructed from nearly one million pieces, were built from standard bricks beginning as early as 2000.

Born in Colville, Washington and raised in Veneta, Oregon, Sawaya's childhood dreams were always fun. He drew cartoons, wrote stories, perfected magic tricks and also played with LEGO. Sawaya attended NYU. After college he rediscovered LEGO but not as a toy, but rather as a medium.

Today Sawaya has more than 1.5 million colored bricks in his New York art studio. His work is obsessively and painstakingly crafted and is both beautiful and playful. Sawaya's ability to transform LEGO bricks into something new, his devotion to scale and color perfection, the way he conceptualizes the action of the subject matter, enables him to elevate an ordinary toy to the status of fine art.

Yoko D'Holbachie is a Japanese painter, born in Yokohama and working in Tokyo. Her art is a perfect mix of western pop surrealism and “traditional” kawaii characters, in a psychedelic palette of colors.
In her creatures you can feel the inspiration coming from one of her favourite artists: Jim Woodring, from a japanese point of view.

Here are some more new and old peices i've done, i just use pencil on paper, bit old school when it somes to these things but i find it very relaxing at night while my babies are tucked in bed dreaming! More to come................

LOVE LOVE LOVE street art of any kind........... love seeing colourful graff on trains, not so keen on those lil ugly tags but big bold peices of random art, things glued to the street, walls, little alley ways with awesome art that maybe there one week, gone the next, so i like to snap a piccie while it's still there!
